This was on the Weather Channel's website -- absolutely amazing living plant sculptures! "After a 10-year hiatus the Mosaicultures Internationales Montreal plant sculpting competition is back with the theme, “Land of Hope.” “As soon as the plant creations became an integral part of the gardens and collections of the Botanical Garden, they revealed a whole new dimension, enabling us to better understand the ‘Land of Hope’ theme and importance of preserving our planet’s biodiversity,” the Director of the Botanical Garden Gilles Vincent said in a release." http://www.weather.com/home-ga... Spectacular works of art. They are all beautiful, but l really liked the iguana. Each time l look at the photos l will probably choose a different favorite. Like l said they are all beautiful. Thank you for sharing Sandy. ![]() |

The article is a bit confusing - they seem to be pictures of the 2013 exhibition. As far as I know it isn't being held this year or next, and the location for 2017 isn't finalized yet but may be in Gatineau, Quebec (across the river from Ottawa, Ontario) rather than Montreal. I've been waiting for the next one and am planning on going either way. ![]() |

LOL, Sue -- you are obviously much more observant than I am!! I'm glad I didn't decide to take off on a road trip to see it in person, that could have been quite disappointing... ![]() Cubits.org - A Universe of Communities[/I] / Share your recipes: Favorite Recipes A-Z cubit C/F temp conversion / NGA Member Map |

See you there in 2017, Sandy? I only noticed because I was already planning to go to the Montreal Botanical Gardens again (my avatar picture was taken there in winter 2014 at their greenhouse butterfly exhibit)) and had checked earlier to see when the mosaicultures was on as I've been wanting to see it for some time. I was disappointed to find out it's not on again until 2017, but if it moves to Gatineau it will be closer. Your original link is dated 2015. So I followed their link to see if I was mistaken about its not being until 2017 and noticed that article is dated 2013 ![]() |

It IS closer!! I'm going to have to make a note on my computer calendar... I've also been wanting to take a trip to upstate NY, where my dad was born and raised, I could circle right around and back through lower Michigan or Wisconsin ![]() Cubits.org - A Universe of Communities[/I] / Share your recipes: Favorite Recipes A-Z cubit C/F temp conversion / NGA Member Map |

They are stunning. “I was just sittin’ here enjoyin’ the company. Plants got a lot to say, if you take the time to listen” Eeyore |

I'll keep watching for confirmation of where it is and post back Sandy. There'll also be celebrations in Ottawa (Canada's capital for anyone not familiar) because it's Canada's 150th anniversary in 2017, so probably other things to see as well. Ottawa is only separated from Gatineau by a river. |
