Thanks for the welcome! Hurray!

About the pictures, I wish they were better as well, but unfortunately, that is the best my camera can do. (I should probably also take better angles where the sun isn't so prominant)

Alright, you're onto something with Helen Collingwood. To me, it looks exactly like what I have. It is so strikingly similar that I feel like nothing else comes close.

With the pink iris, I agree that 'Cherie' is a stretch, but 'Campus Flirt' has no pictures that I can identify with and I haven't seen something as close to this as Cherie. However, because of Cherie's 'big' flowers, compared to how small they are on this plant makes me question the flower type more. I think it may be a bit smaller than a tall bearded (around 33-35 inches) compared to Helen Collingwood and these tan irises. It is also a bit taller than the yellow irises pictured in the firs post. I am still unsure of any other irises that look similar and have similar properties to that of what I have, but alas, I suppose it will turn up soon. Thanks!

As for the Bronze Beauty ideal, I agree with you. What I've seen of the pickings of irises from what is originally planted here in our gardens, they all seem to bear old-fashioned, but not so old to be lost in time. They still are newer than some, and do not show as much innovation as some of the irises we see today. So, where does that bring me in figuring this out? Another iris was suggested, in the form of 'Autumn Twilight.' It looks SI MUCH like what I have, Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Autumn Twilight') (minus a couple pictures which have way darker bits of peachy/lavender in them) but the thing that is throwing me off about it, is that it is said to be a rebloomer. In 14 years, and with how absolutely prolific these tan irises are, I have never ever seen one rebloom. But, on the contrary, there are too many irises clumped up together with weeds growing rampant throught the entangled clumps, so perhaps they CAN rebloom, but they just have not found the right condition? I have transplanted these into better soils with very little weeds and little crowdedness, but nothing there as well. Maybe a last shot would to put some fertalizer on them and see what happens? If it reblooms, we have figured it out, but if not, I feel like 'Bronze Beauty' is about as close as we can get for now, unless a seasoned veteran here has exactly what they are. Interesting things may have to happen...

Thanks again for the comments, Sherry! I really do appreciate them! We'll solve this mystery soon enough, I suppose. Thanks again, mate.

Sorry for your internet troubles! I tip my hat to you. I've lost some posts due to my iPad crashing as well. I feel the trouble.

You mentioning Sandalwood gives me some more clarification. The tricky bit, however, is that there are no pictures on this database of Sandalwood, BUT I have looked up the type and seen some pictures that clue me in that perhaps what I have is in fact Sandalwood. If so, I could help the mystery by uploading a couple images (in better quality) of what I have to the database if it is in fact Sandalwood.

It is the closest in appearance to me than even 'Bronze Beauty', or the rebloomer 'Autumn Twilight.' Maybe you have figured out one of the mysteries in my iris gardens? Rolling my eyes.

Thank you for the comment, Arlyn!

That's so frustrating, Arlyn..
The pictures of Sandlewood look more golden, but I haven't grown it. Does it fade out?
That one reminds me of Chantilly or Easter Bonnet, but softer in color...

Monty, if you haven't been to the Historic Iris site, there's a search feature.. It's not always helpful if you don't know the registered color... Would yours be a pink, peach, tan, fawn or yellow? Hilarious!

If you're a member, there's a forum for Historics.

Identifying isn't that easy... Sometimes you get lucky, and sometimes the search goes on and on.. I've got several that I've been unable to put a name to. You really shouldn't put a positive name to one until you've grown the named one side by side..

You can do what I do for fun at night when there's nothing but reruns, that I've already seen, of shows I shouldn't have lowered myself to watch in the first place... It's a tedious process, but a tremendous source of historics... ...and so much more educational than watching trashy housewives pull each other's hair out. Rolling on the floor laughing

That's what I was trying to post , Sherry......those are all helpful links! Thanks for putting them up ! As to fading...yes, it does, but "not bad"....I just can't see enough detail in those pictures to get a clear 'view'.There are a couple other "possibles in that color range...Nylon, and Jean Cayeux are two that I can think of, off hand. I think the "pink one" is probably a Sass iris, too.....from what I see of it, I suspect, maybe, "Pink Lace".
Whenever you are "fairly sure" that the pictures "match", THEN the fun really starts ! Because, without actually growing a "known example" next to your "unknown", you can't really be sure of an ID.

Thanks for all the links Sherry! I'll definitely have to check some of those out and see if it gives me any clarification.

You can rest easy knowing that I won't be putting positive names on the irises I have until I can prove what I think it is, and what it actually is are the same. More or less, me giving them 'close' by names to other specimans that are so similar is a way for me to quit with the 'well, these are tan irises' or 'my light pink and slightly scented iris' yadayada yada. Rolling on the floor laughing I don't intend at all to false advertise what I have at all, it is more just a bymeans to at least clarify what mine are similar to rather than being exceptionally vague with 'well, they're...red.' I can just as easily give them sort of acronymed names as in my 'pink and reds' = PR, and light yellows = LY and so on to avoid confusion and avoid misadvertising. Hilarious!

Either way, I will certainly try to refrain from calling one of my specimens the exact iris I think it is until I know for myself or I know exactly what they are (because of an order). No worries on that aspect. PR and LY it is, or plain old, boring old, useless old...tan irises! Shrug! Hilarious!

There are so many! It makes ID-ing what I have a true task. With Gold Bullion, the flowers look a bit large for what I have. My yellow noids have quite small flowers for how tall it is. For context, they look like they belong on a standard dwarf, rather than a tall bearded to me.

Alas! I shall have to figure out how on earth am I going to figure this one out. (Or even the others) Hilarious!

Thanks for the comment, Sherry! Big Grin

Love the historic Irises! I grew up with them but when I finally was able to plan an iris garden, I found they are pretty hard to come by. I'm not a fan of the super ruffly or lacy, so even with the modern irises I tend to choose ones that look more historic, lol! Thanks for posting all your pics, I'm really enjoying viewing them!
