Thanks for the welcome!
About the pictures, I wish they were better as well, but unfortunately, that is the best my camera can do. (I should probably also take better angles where the sun isn't so prominant)
Alright, you're onto something with Helen Collingwood. To me, it looks exactly like what I have. It is so strikingly similar that I feel like nothing else comes close.
With the pink iris, I agree that 'Cherie' is a stretch, but 'Campus Flirt' has no pictures that I can identify with and I haven't seen something as close to this as Cherie. However, because of Cherie's 'big' flowers, compared to how small they are on this plant makes me question the flower type more. I think it may be a bit smaller than a tall bearded (around 33-35 inches) compared to Helen Collingwood and these tan irises. It is also a bit taller than the yellow irises pictured in the firs post. I am still unsure of any other irises that look similar and have similar properties to that of what I have, but alas, I suppose it will turn up soon. Thanks!
As for the Bronze Beauty ideal, I agree with you. What I've seen of the pickings of irises from what is originally planted here in our gardens, they all seem to bear old-fashioned, but not so old to be lost in time. They still are newer than some, and do not show as much innovation as some of the irises we see today. So, where does that bring me in figuring this out? Another iris was suggested, in the form of 'Autumn Twilight.' It looks SI MUCH like what I have,
Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Autumn Twilight') (minus a couple pictures which have way darker bits of peachy/lavender in them) but the thing that is throwing me off about it, is that it is said to be a rebloomer. In 14 years, and with how absolutely prolific these tan irises are, I have never ever seen one rebloom. But, on the contrary, there are too many irises clumped up together with weeds growing rampant throught the entangled clumps, so perhaps they CAN rebloom, but they just have not found the right condition? I have transplanted these into better soils with very little weeds and little crowdedness, but nothing there as well. Maybe a last shot would to put some fertalizer on them and see what happens? If it reblooms, we have figured it out, but if not, I feel like 'Bronze Beauty' is about as close as we can get for now, unless a seasoned veteran here has exactly what they are. Interesting things may have to happen...
Thanks again for the comments, Sherry! I really do appreciate them! We'll solve this mystery soon enough, I suppose. Thanks again, mate.
