Hello everyone! I'm a relatively new houseplant addict, starting probably in September when I bought my first orchid, subsequently killed it, got 2 new ones and managed to keep them alive. Well, until my sweet 3 year old Son "watered" one of them with olive oil. I gave my surviving orchid, bamboo, and ivy away to a friend as we were moving from WI to NY and I just didn't have room to transport them in the car (2 kids, 2 dogs!).

Anyway, I'm restarting my plant collection and trying to revive a mostly-dead orchid that belongs to my MIL. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's lovely plants and picking up some knowledge. Smiling

Welcome! anmiller86,
It's good to see your son taking an active interest in gardening. Now if we could just steer him into the culinary arts... Rolling on the floor laughing

He likes both! But it was my fault. For my indoor plants I use an olive oil dispenser because it works better for me than bringing them to the sink. Well, Hubby left the actual olive oil dispenser out and...that was that. I actually bought a new mini orchid plant about an hour ago. I think I may have an indoor plant problem. :blushing:

Too bad I didn't think about repotting with fresh soil, I could have saved it I bet. Sad
