I haven't watched or posted on this forum before but I'm going to start today. This is Howard and Dixie's shade garden. It has been well cared for and loved for a number of years. It is a real treat and inspiration to visit. Hope some one will see this and enjoy it......

Loved the tour! What is the tenth picture, Is that a tulip? Also, those are some beautiful peony's!

Thanks Julia......the 10th picture is a tulip which is past prime and just went through a rain storm. Here is another picture of the tulips.

I have more pictures of this garden that I will add later......also pictures of my own shade garden....

How much shade do those peonies get? I have a well established single NOID that gets morning sun and afternoon shade and it always seems to be leaning toward more sun. I've divided it a couple times and have given the new starts much more sun. They stand up much straighter for me. Are there some that can tolerate more shade than others?

Deb......the peonies do reach for the sun but bloom each year.......

Lovely garden.

Our peonies are on the east side of the house so get some morning sun (filtered by beech & oak trees) & shade in the afternoon.
