Here we are in August.......the lazy, hazy days of summer![]() 'Celtic Butterfly' 'Royal Nobility' 'Barbara Mandrell' ![]() 'Fancy Lace' - First flower ![]() 'Fantasy Fringe' - First flower 'Ann Hathaway's Garden' 'Blue Breasted Bee Eater' |
Thank you for starting the August Bloom thread Alex! Love the pattern on Celtic Butterfly. Fancy Lace reminded me, yet again, I need to add more whites to the garden. ![]() |

Alex - Many of those I have seen here or on a seller's list and immediately liked! I have a similar taste in daylily cultivars! Loved all your photos of each of them. Truly beautiful! ![]() ![]() What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us. Garden Rooms and Becky's Budget Garden |

Alex- you have some stunning Daylilies. I know I have recently showed these, but I have very little blooming, and these are new to me so I have to take a picture of every bloom :-) California Connection Bluegrass Music Stella, with a double on rebloom |

Gale - I, personally, don't mind looking at more blooms from the same daylily. Your photos are welcome! ![]() Nearly no blooms right now. Just Fol De Rol produced to lovely blooms today and has maybe 4 buds left. Siloam Double Classic has a developing scape with a couple of buds, but my season may be pretty much over until I get some Fall surprises. Which I would be thrilled to see ..... Taking pictures today was at my own risk. The sun was shining brightly for a brief few minutes, then I got caught in a thunder shower. Then the sun reappeared. Pictures taken just before and just after the rain showers on a Saturday afternoon. 'Cutting Loose' - looking gorgeous 'Blue Breasted Bee Eater' 'Freaky Good' 'Very Berry Candy' 'Cherry Ice Cream Smile' - just a huge bloom 'Chang Dynasty' - another favorite of mine, and even after the rain, still looks good 'Baha California' - First flower 'Marietta Momento' - first flower of the summer. Love the whites. 'Vertical Horizon' |

Regina, your NOID reminds me of Savannah Debutante. Not sure of the bloom size or height on yours, but you might want to check out SD: Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Savannah Debutante') Alex, Marietta Momento is very nice looking! Gale, I have never seen a double on Stella before! That is cool ![]() ![]() Vickie May all your weeds be wildflowers. ~Author Unknown |

Vickie, I've been eyeing Savannah Debutante as the probable name. Trying to check with the seller to see if they ever sold it or had it. Thanks for the id ![]() Alex, I'm not usually a big fan of whites ( unless they have purple on them ![]() |

scflowers....John Shooter of Marietta Gardens produces some of the best whites I have ever seen. I have 3 of his white daylilies. Look up 'Mellow Mood' in the database. John hybridizes mostly diploids. If you google 'Marietta Gardens' you can see all of his lovely creations. ![]() |

I posted a picture that Cal - sue said was incorrectly named. Bought from Lowes (Monrovia) tagged as Purple De Oro. Sue didn't know what it was. Can anyone recognize what it might be? Thanks Chuck Life is a journey of adventure and discovery, sail bravely into each new day. |

I sure don't Chuck, but you got a nice surprize! It is a pretty color and looks to have a high bud count. |

I don't know either Chuck, but I like it better than Purple de Oro! But it sure would be nice if someone could ID it. Vickie May all your weeds be wildflowers. ~Author Unknown |
