Looking for some assistance in identifying the following plant that is growing in my backyard of the house I just purchased in 2014. Seems to be growing in patches throughout the yard.

You didn't say where you live but your plant sure looks like Comfrey to me too. There are a few listed in our database with photos for comparison:
