Nice looking leaves. Any ideas on what kind of weed this is?

the stem looks like an Impatiens. Not much of a root system.

It reminds me a bit of the Boehmeria plants. I could be totally wrong.
Am I seeing some type of oil glands on the leaf in the third image? Shrug!

Looks like @purpleinopp may be correct; this link describes the stems and leaves.

That's an annual weed here in my shady back yard. Reminds me of Perilla but not exact match to what I grow.

Gee, before I even enlarged the photo it reminded me of West Indian Wood Nettle (Laportea aestuans) which has popped up in my garden a couple of times but it's only found in California and Florida as far as I know.

Good eye Tiffany!

A couple of Pilea grow in Michigan, Pilea pumila being one of them and it sure looks like it: http://michiganflora.net/speci...

TY, Lin. :+) Good link, Greene.

USDA says it's native, if that's something you use to determine which plants are allowed to grow in your yard, Frank. Doesn't have an article at eattheweeds.com, that I could find. Not sure their search works all that well.

LOL! TY for the follow-up.

If there's a consensus about the ID, your pics would make excellent additions to that plants' entry in the DB here.

@nell, I think that your Fatoua villosa/Mullberry weed is different than what Frank has, but wow, Hurray! and thanks for the name of that weed. Thumbs up I have been battling a NOID weed for two years in my yard and thanks to you it now has a name - Fatoua villosa.... Pops up everywhere.
