Just be grateful I am not showing the Orientals, most of which are probably dead. Here is what is labeled Dragon's Eye, not sure if it is correct so if anyone knows let me know! ![]() |

ORANIA, much like Red Hot, but deeper colored, I like it better, but this was the first year it bloomed and it may have been during a cold spell. We had multiple heat waves broken by multiple cold spells last summer. If I never live to suffer another 90F day it will be too soon.![]() |

Polly I don't even think you can even get the American series from Vandersalm. They didn't have it a few years ago when I last ordered wholesale. I did get a whole bunch of them in a mixed OT order I got from a bulb reseller, and 100 percent of that batch was virused. The one I have now came from someone else. The Lily nook is the only place that seems to carry them still and that is retail plus phyto fees. If you want anymore details feel free to email me. Here is one photo more I missed! really beautiful. |
The most Americans I have seen have been at the Lily Nook, in Canada. Go figure. A few years back Jungs (terribly rated on Garden Watchdog) locally here had them, which is much different than the mail order company as their products on site have been really great. The bulbs were true to name and average sized, no problems with virus or anything. Most of my Americans came from there. What a great way to start out the morning, all of these lovely lily pictures. I picked up a few of the American series a couple of years ago from a bloomingbulb co op. They were all nice and have performed well, but I have stopped buying Lilies from them because several of the Asiatics I got at the same time were virused. This is my favorite of the series, and possibly my favorite OT. I believe it is 'American Journey' ![]() "...and don't think the garden loses its ecstasy in winter.
