Lilies forum: Do you have to wait until the lily foliage is totally brown before digging bulbs

I usually wait until after the first frost to dig, or if you have a lily stalk completely die back, then you could before that time. The green stalk with leaves is giving the energy to the bulb for next year's growth, so leaving it until it dies back completely is beneficial.
