There are two of these in the back yard...there are suckers all around the base...

We had Sweet Viburnum (Viburnum odoratissimum) growing at our old house and those leaves sure remind me of those trees.

I don't remember if they suckered like that but I wonder if they could be a variety of Viburnum?
