This plant is growing along a river bank that floods regularly , so is sometimes under water.

It is about 24 inches tall and has a small white and purple flower about 1-11/2 inches.

There was a lot of this plant.

Sandy soil.

Looks like a type of Justica possible J. americana. It is an Indiana native.
