Debbie suggested we need a thread to list our sources for ready made garden art, supplies and so forth. You can add your favorite mail order sites or local stores. Basically, everything pertaining to using our wallets to make our gardens pretty with Garden Art! Vic and I would appreciate this particular thread be a chat free zone so we can keep it easy to read and find listings. We'll remove chat posts if you goof. ![]() I'll begin with letting you know I head straight to the clearance aisles of Lowes, Wal-Mart and Home Depot. And also, any local nursery. When fall begin peeking around the corner, many of these stores put great garden art on clearance. Check on line too! ![]() I save coins...to buy new garden goodies! Here in the Tampa Bay area of Florida we have a store called Jo-Anne's Fabrics. It's mostly sewing and fabric supplies but they also have craft items. They always have two to three aisles of clearance things, generally 50% to 75% off. I've found some really good bargains there! :) |

In Texas we have Hobby Lobby, Garden Ridge, Hancock Fabrics, and also Jo-Anne's Fabrics. Obvious what Jo-Anne's and Hancock sells, but Hobby Lobby and Garden Ridge sell a little bit of everything and regularly have deep discount sales and have coupons in the paper. |
In Phoenix we have JoAnne's, Hobby Lobby and Michael's for craft stores. Target has some great things but not like they did before they removed the garden department. I even check out Walmart. Whenever you are around there, always check out the Dollar Store, Dollar General, etc. You never know what goodies you might find that will fit right in with something you plan to make! |

These are some I use for garden art or supplies to make my own garden art. I always take advantage of coupons for Michael's and A.C. Moore and Dollar Tree and the clearance aisle at Walmart have become regular stops for me when I'm out. Goodwill, Salvation Army and we have a thrift shop in town run by the hospital volunteers too. Prices a little higher but sometimes you can find some decent deals. One of my new favorites is Ross Dress for Less. I never knew? ![]() ![]() All of these are at least an hour away but worth the occasional trip: Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Tuesday Morning, Big Lots, Ollie's Bargain Outlet. Homegoods is always a necessary stop when I can find one, closest store is either Richmond or Greensboro. ![]() Online I've bookmarked a lot of these because my family asks for suggestions every year and I give them links with my 'Christmas Wish List'. ![]() My personal favorite has got to be Collections Etc. http://www.collectionsetc.com/ Reasonable prices but I always wait for a sale or offer of free shipping. If you sign up for their emails you can get 15% off your first order! Warning, you'll receive TONS of emails!! They do alert you though to new markdowns and free shipping offers. Their sister site, Nature's Touch http://www.collectionsetc.com/... basically offers the same garden art but sometimes they have additional selections. Gardener's Supply http://www.gardeners.com/ Pricey but they occasionally have good sales. Another company that will fill your mailbox with emails. ![]() Accents for the Home and Garden http://www.accentsforhomeandga... Terry's Village http://www.terrysvillage.com/o... Garden Fun http://www.gardenfun.com/ Online Discount Mart http://www.onlinediscountmart.... Exterior Accents http://www.exterior-accents.co... Garden Artisans http://www.gardenartisans.us/ CSN Stores http://www.csnstores.com/Lawn-... (FYI, I've used CSN for all of the lights we've replaced in recent remodeling projects, prices are great!) Yard Bright https://www.yardbright.com/cat... Backyard Chirper http://www.backyardchirper.com... I'll try to get a list together of the sources I've saved for craft supplies, concrete molds, mosaics, etc. |

~~~I love to wander the aisles of any local hardware stores, large or small ... you never know what you might spot to use in decorating the yard and garden. ~~~Also, farm supply stores like Rural King and Tractor Supply (the two we have here) always have lots of interesting things. One thing they have a lot of is miniatures (especially animals) and smaller kid-sized items which are often useful for turning into yard and garden art. I also like their metal and aluminum farm items such as animal feeding and watering troughs which come in various sizes and make great inexpensive raised container gardens and/or small water gardens. They have things like small windmills and so forth too. Often much cheaper than specialty stores. ~~~Ross for Less was one of my faves out in CA. Luv it. ![]() I garden for the pollinators. |
Forgot to add this one yesterday - Habit for Humanity Restore. You can check here to see if there's one in your state: http://www.habitat.org/restore... I'm fortunate because there are two here locally. One is basically all building materials but fantastic prices. The other has mostly furniture, furnishings, china, etc. with higher prices but still some deals. |
I had one other that popped into my head last night. Tuesday Morning has an ever-changing variety of garden items/furniture/tools as well. I've gotten great deals on several items there. |
For those of you in the Tampa Bay, Florida area, I just saw this posted on Craigslist.com. sale-evydb-2531435538@craigslist.org I acquired a great deal of professional arts and crafts supplies through a pre-foreclosure sale. It took two 14' trucks to move the items and include the following: Paint brushes, different types of beads, ribbons, wood crafts, aluminum crafts, baskets, fabrics, books, stamps, designer craft paper, frames, arts & crafts utensils and much more! The former owner was an arts and crafts teacher and said they paid upwards of $50k for all the merchandise. Most of the items are in great condition or still in boxes. Buy one or buy it all, I am trying to liquidate these items at rock bottom prices, so don't miss out. If you have any interest, please contact Mark @ 727.409.2468 Thanks! If there is something in particular you are looking for in the craft line, let me know and I will see if he has it. |
