I realize that not every forum requires a moderator; the forums with moderators have the names listed over on the right side of the screen. Sounds good.

Recently I communicated or tried to communicate with two members each of whom is listed as a moderator. One responded to say that they are no longer moderating the forum; the other has not responded and a quick check for their recent posts it looks like they haven't posted since 2013?

Can we update the names of the members who are actively moderating forums?

Looking at the Cactus and Tender Succulents forum you are listed as the moderator there also.

I'm not asking people to tell me what they moderate. Only asking if the named moderators for each moderated forum should be updated to show who the current moderator actually is.

It would have been nice to see a moderator on the Adenium forum recently to deal with the spam attack. Yes, a list of the active moderators is surely a good idea.

I contacted gone2seed who was was listed as the mod for the Adenium forum.
I had been attempting to notify the mod about the spam which is how I learned that at least one listed moderator was no longer active in that position.
That's one of the things that prompted me to start this thread.

Greene - your post here made me go check out Adeniums, because I didn't know what they were. The first thread with a picture I came across.....it's so beautiful! Some look like roses, others look like large plumeria, sort of... I must do more research now. Shame on you for getting me hooked on yet ANOTHER plant that I want to have.

My house is going to turn into a jungle this year, I just know it, LoL!

Last week I ran a report on all the moderators. There were 46 of them total and I checked the activity logs of all of them. 3 of those moderators have not even accessed the ATP site a single time in 3 months, so I removed them as moderator.

There are others who have accessed the site during that time, but haven't posted to any forum at all. I am considering dropping those are moderator, as well, but I haven't made my full decision. But it seems appropriate that if someone hasn't posted a single time in 3 months, they shouldn't still be a moderator.

(My thought.) Maybe the mods could "check in" once in a while so you know they are still interesting in assisting members and keeping their chosen forum accurate, friendly and happy? Kind of the way I check my smoke alarm once a month just to be sure it will be working if a fire breaks out. Accessing the site and being accessible to the members who ask for assistance are two different things.

I haven't seen the moderator of the Florida Gardening Forum around ATP in awhile either but maybe I've just missed posts by her; members from Florida seem to keep the chat going on that forum.

I haven't seen a post by the moderator in longer than I can remember. Like Lin, perhaps I've missed her posts but I don't think so.

@Budgielover is the moderator of that forum, and has not posted in over a year. Consequently, I removed the moderator from that forum.
