It's next to a window. The thing is growing out of the soil. It looks like a yellow long-stem mushroom. http://s19.postimg.org/bhv5bhzqr/tree.jpg

how do i get rid of it?

thx

Hi & welcome! Yes, it does look like a mushroom. Harmless to your tree, but usually a sign that the organic components of the soil have decomposed significantly and a repot is probably appropriate soon, or late next spring, depending on your location.
