I sent in a late order to Dan. I added 10 spidery ones but of his intros I added. Suzy Cream Cheese.
I think this one has awards, Charon the Ferryman, Muscle and Blood. Howlin Wolf, and Mascara Snake. He sent My Brain is Full.\as a bonus. If anyone is growing these? Could you give a report on how they do for you. Thanks,

Teresa

Wish I could grow some of his plants. I do not grow any of the above, looks like you will have great 2016 season.

I added Suzy Cream Cheese to my garden this year. It went into my "All in the Family" section, which I got for my sister in law. I can't wait to see it grown and blooming.

@bluegrassmom

Of the ones you've mentioned, I've been growing Mascara Snake and Muscle and Blood, since Dan introduced them and that's where I got them. I've picked up My Brain is Full on the Lily Auction last year or the year before.

Suzy Cream Cheese does well for me, in fact it is getting a rebloom scape which I know won't amount to anything because frost is just right around the corner here.

Teresa,

You asked about a favorite Bachman plant is.... Mine has to be the one that is named for me, Marilyn Grua Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Marilyn Grua')

I grow other Bachman daylilies....

'Barney Barnes'
'Big Ross'
'Boogie My Woogie Baby'
'Chesty Puller'
'Chicken on the Run'
'Coleman Hawkins'
'Gail Braunstein'
'Gods Gift to Warthogs'
'Grits Ain't Groceries'
'Hell Hath No Fury'
'House of Bluelights'
'Jackie Bachman'
'Lorita Wadsworth'
'Martha Seaman'
'Mary Levi'
'Mascara Snake'
'Monkey Hips'
'My Brain Is Full'
'Muscle and Blood'
'Nate'
'Rachel Frye'
'The Tingler'
'Zoot Sims'

'Shoutin' the Blues' I used to grow this one, but after one year it increased very rapidly and I gave all the fans back to Dan.

I'll have to check the database for the Bachman daylilies and see if I missed any.

I just got Mascara Snake this year and it had one bloom. Looking forward to next year! I don't believe I have any of his other intros.

Sounds like you got some good ones Teresa!

Knew I had an image of Suzy Cream Cheese somewhere, I just added it to the database. Suzy Cream Cheese was a reliable late bloomer. Sadly, that is why I sold it. With our cool to cold temps late in the season it never really had a chance to produce pretty blooms past the first few unless it was warmer.
Mascara Snake is also a late and blooms a bit earlier than SCC. The blooms are huge and a gorgeous shade of dark red/maroon! Be sure to plant it in full sun, if the scapes stretch to the light they will fall over once the blooms start opening.

Char, I bought Suzy CC for that reason. I have good rebloom here. It is an award winner. I like having late plants to extend the season here. Woman at the Well is reblooming this week. It is a favorite of mine. We may have a frost on Sat. Cold weather is quickly approaching!

Marilyn, wow that is an impressive list! Out of all those which do the best for you? Like the best bloomer or rebloomer? I saw Mascara Snake at the Western KY Botanical Garden and just had to have it.

I have been planting some of my potted hosta and a hardy hibiscus this afternoon, I am trying to get ready for winter.

@Bluegrassmom,

It is hard to pick just one Bachman, as I've so many good growers and bloomers.

@Mayo,

I keep looking at your location and just have to ask if you grow tulips. You're in the tulip capital of the world! Lucky you!

Now back on the topic of daylilies.....

haha, and I have NO tulips in my garden! Hilarious!
I used to have some, in the pre-DL era... (last year Rolling on the floor laughing )
Tulips are so 'normal' over here that I can't get exited about them anymore..

If you're interested I can send you whatever you want Thumbs up (is it allowed to send bulbs to the US???)

Yes, since @Newyorkrita stated she ordered tulips directly from a Dutch (Dutch Grown, I believe) company a few years ago. I don't know about the extra cost, fees, inspections to send dutch bulbs to the US. Rita, could you answer Mayo's question please. Thanks!

Mayo,

I can't believe you don't grow tulips. You have the widest selection that us the US don't have.

I guess it is because in Spring you see tulips everywhere..
And every garden center, gas station and super market sells bulbs! Blinking

The grass is always greener... I would LOVE to buy DL's from the US and you would love Dutch bulbs Hilarious!
Dutch Grown has quite a big selection and they are not at all expensive !! Thumbs up

Here are some Dutch sites to drool over Big Grin

To get back on topic: I see that nobody has Eggs Ain't Poultry... is that for a reason?
I really like this one , as far as I can see from the photo in the database ánd a nursery over here has it Whistling

Some years ago I did order bulbs from a company that sent them directly from Holland to the customer. They had a large minimum order of $150.00 and the varieties came in 100 count blocks. Cost was as priced per order block with shipping and everything figgured in.

Thanks @newyorkrita. I wondered what their minimum was. Were you happy with all their bulbs they sent?

@Mayo,

What is the name of the nursery that has Bachman's 'Eggs Ain't Poultry'? Maybe they have other Bachman daylilies.
