I purchased a 'Golden Stripe' in the spring and it has thrown 1 leaf since. I wonder if they are one in the same.

They are the same Scot, I had mis-typed the name and have meanwhile corrected it in my post above. I got a cutting from the Botanical Garden where I work. It rooted very easily in water.

Scott, may I ask where you got your Caroline? An online search produces lots of different Ti's but I like yours.

Alice, The 'Caroline' came from Mark Peters ( Peters Crotons & Cordylines) here in FL. Mark and his wife are usually vendors at most of the Botanical Gardens plant sales around FL selling great plants.

Hetty, Would that be the Botanical Gardens in Naples on Bayshore Dr? I was there 3 weeks ago and loved the Caribbean Garden.

Wow, Scott! You have the most beautiful cordylines. Drooling I've got to get my hands on some. I did not know that there are so many different varieties.

I did not know that; aside from encyclopedic knowledge, now I see one reason why.
For someone with your interests, that must be a very rewarding job.

Got my plants! Since these are my first Cordylines, I need a crash course in how to take care of them. First of all, what kind of substrate do they prefer? Do the roots like a lot of room or prefer tight boundaries and will they tolerate a greenhouse environment that can get into the 40's at night for extended periods?

I got mine too but haven't taken any pics yet. I got two Ti cuttings which are about 18" and a bromeliad offset that is over 12" wide. I expected small plants but was more than pleased with what I received today.

I usually pot them up to a 1 gal pot using a good potting soil for indoor plants. Let the potting medium dry a little between your watering, do not keep the soil soggy. The plants will be fine in those temps at night. The Keely's Golden is nice and bushy. Hurray!

David I ordered these from Vintage Green in Hawaii. I'm sure the owner didn't know what hit him .. within the space of 2 days he got a bunch of Cordyline orders.

@ScotTi - I only bought canes from this company figuring I can root them easily myself. One set came with leaves but the others were just sticks and I can't tell which way is up *Blush* Confused Any help??
