I believe that is a Dracaena deremensis 'Lemon Lime'

Oops, forgot the other half of your question, you can propagate by stem cuttings, new heads will sprout below cut off portion, and you can root the upper part you removed. But do it in Spring.

Thank so much. I love house plants but many tend to only enjoy my hospitality a few years then disappear. Thumbs down

My husband rolls his eyes when new victims appear.

This one has been very strong. Glad you mentioned Spring. I already had scissors in hand. Hilarious! I can hardly wait to try getting more of these.

Maybe wait till it is about 3 feet tall, then decide if you want to trim it down.

Don't feel bad when some plants do not survive first attempt..it happens to me as well..a learning curve. And time to buy some more Smiling Hilarious!
