Is wearing gloves a necessity during your day in the garden? Or do you get right to work sans protection, to feel the earth in real time?

At home, I almost never wear gloves. My hands are as tough as nails and things like splinters have to sink pretty deep for me to even notice.

At work (I'm a landscaper) I tend to wear them quite you have any idea how many home owners do not 'pick up' after their dogs and let the landscaper's pick it up in their mowers or during the fall cleanups?
