Please feel free to contribute to this thread as you think of or discover tips and tricks of your own.
Responses should be brief and to the point to facilitate easy reading of all tips.

Tips:
• purchase small, re-sealable bags online or at a store prior to the swap (use these to put your seeds into)
• find appropriately-sized labels for those bags prior to the swap
• divide your seeds prior to the swap so you have accurate packet/seed counts
• don't use permanent market on plastic bags - it rubs off
• know your top 5 favorites before the swap begins
• once you receive tickets, keep track of your remaining tickets in your head, the system (currently) doesn't update it properly until you have run out
• remember this is for FUN...you might not get everything you want, but you're almost guaranteed to get atleast several things you really like
• get (reliable) friends to sign up - the more the merrier
• after the swapping is finished, send your seeds in ASAP - the sooner they are all received, the faster everyone gets their seeds back
• use Zip-loc bags to organize the seed packets by swap member when sending seeds in
• pictures help 'sell' seeds
• ...so do database links (I don't advise changing/breaking the database link to your item unless necessary)

At the beginning of each day of the swap you will be awarded tickets. The amount is set by the swap host. Each day the number of tickets you receive will increase. If on day one you have 3 tickets then you can pick three packs of seeds from other members, then on day two you should get 6 tickets and you can pick 6 packs of seeds etc. You can also earn extra tickets if people like your seeds. If people pick your seeds you will earn tickets based on a formula in the system. In the Beta Swap on the first day we got one bonus ticket for every two packs chosen from our list. On day two we go one bonus pack for every 3 packs chosen from our list. The amount of bonus ticket diminishes each day as the starting tickets increases.

Thanks Jay.

I did not participate in the Beta Swap and it has been a long time since I did any swapping. I read everything for this swap and saw no description of what a ticket was.

I was considering participating in one of the new swaps being set up. Since you popped in here to answer this question, perhaps I should join yours. Big Grin I have no interest in swapping Hibiscus, but love wildflowers. Thanks.

I would love to have you join. All wildflowers are welcome, no Hibiscus needed to participate.

another tip:

* don't forget to check back to see if you have earned extra tickets because of seed packets that you have 'sold'!
