I have a very neglected large pot of Zantedeschia aethiopica. The leaves are about 3 inches high right now. I really need to re-pot the rhizomes. They've been in the same pot for about 10 years and have bloomed faithfully. Can I un-pot them now and re-pot, or should I wait till they bloom and die back?

If you're careful not to break too many roots, I think you could safely re-pot them, Karen. Just water them well and keep them cool for a week or two after you've finished re-potting.

I've uprooted and moved my Callas while they were growing before and as long as they didn't lack for water, they just kept right on going. We do have the advantage of humid air here, though. Maybe make an effort to spray the plants with a hose a few times to help the leaves stay perky.

Thank you very much, Elaine. I'll give it a try, and definitely keep them more humid for a while. We are pretty dry here in Arizona.
