Tom and Matts are also going to stay at the Red Lion. They may be bringing one or two of their employees with them.

Greg,

What I'l do is reserve a block of rooms and the Red Lion will hold these until a certain date. You will get a better rate and a free breakfast on one of the days at least. When I get this sttled I'll tell you the name of the group you have to use in order to get the rate.

I don't anticipate a run on rooms in Salem that weekend but you never know!

Here is what is happening for specialized buying from some online nurseries.
The below nurseries will do online sales for you and deliver them to the Bush Garden Spring Plant Sale. This will save lots of money on postage. Hurray!
I already have an order in with Wild Ginger Farm. Now to look at the other three websites. This way I can spread out my purchases from now until April.

Perennial Obsessions http://perennialobsessions.com... Email your list, be sure to note that you want them delivered to the Hybridizing Clinic. They have some wonderful sedum and misc. hardy plants. They will give instructions on how and when to pay.

Wild Ginger Farm http://wildgingerfarm.com/ (can place orders starting April 1st) You can email your list directly to Wild Ginger Farm and they will give you your total for the purchase, how and when to pay.

Dancing Oaks Nursery http://www.dancingoaks.com/ Email them your list of plants, when you pick them up at the Plant Sale you can pay with check or cash.

Mountain Crest Gardens http://mountaincrestgardens.co... Purchase plants beginning April 1st. Write in comments area to be delivered to the Kevin Vaughn Hybridizing Clinic and remove shipping charges from your order.

Happy Shopping

That's mighty nice of them to deliver our orders personally. But I wonder if PO has a large enough truck. Big Grin
Pardon my ignorance, but when/where is this plant sale? Is it the Friends of Bush Garden: FOBG Plant Sale

Yes it is Tim. This year is April 22 & 23.

I am so happy that they will do this for us. As you may know Wild Ginger Farm doesn't do online selling anymore. I would email your list to them and send your phone number so they can call you with a total. You can pay them over the phone. I have done this before. They are wonderful people to do business with.
As is Perennial Obsessions and Dancing Oaks.
You might want to contact Perennial Obsessions to see what is available as a special order. I know they might have things in limited quantities that won't be listed on their website.

News from Kevin:
JungleShadows said:
Just received the contract from the Red Lion. They have given us a very good rate and will provide a free breakfast which is cooked to order. That's a nice perk.

They have a lounge on the first floor so they can all visit together too.

After Friday, Jan 8th they will have a set up to register and I used Sempervivum Society as the group name to get the discount rate.

Let the fun begin. Hurray! Hurray!

Dancing Oaks and Wild Ginger Farm have so very choice, hard to find plants. I usually get something every year from them.
And of course I get lots of unique semps, sedum and some other choice plants from Perennial Obsessions.
