My Plumie Celadine is in hiatus right now.. I have it covered this winter with burlap, since our weather this winter has been rainy. So far I only peeped briefly to see how the stem looks like..seems it is holding, as expected the leaves are wilted and ready to drop. I was away almost whole December and I believe there have been several days of overnight temps in the low 30's and been raining around Christmas time.
I have observed it can take our mild cold temps..but this is its first year where we have more rain in winter. So still keeping an eye on it how it goes. I am so tempted to remove the burlap since temps are in the mid 50's but knowing we may also get the occasional low 20's in January, will just continue to keep it under cover.
In my area, my window of time to get its blooms is very brief, in mid Fall.
During our very long hot and dry conditions running 6 tp 7 months. I freely water this plant, very thirsty. The shade from our city trees helps this plant endure our very dry heat conditions.
