Gee, I covered almost all my sedum, not knowing what the 30 degree temps were going to do to them. I can just imagine uncovering them in early Spring and seeing them all alive (?) but with no coloring because they haven't seen the light of day(?)... ![]() |
Thank you Greg. Bev you can uncover them now. As you can see they do just fine. At least the hardy types. I'll try to get more sedum photos today, between the rain showers. There a lots of different ones out in the beds and they are beautiful this time of year. |

Love the pictures! Gold Select has great coloring. Is it as robust as 'Angelina'? Sempervivum for Sale |
It is just as hardy, but somewhat sturdier, with more year round color intensity. Both are in the same Petrosedum rupestre species. Gold Select rarely blooms in my garden, Angelina blooms heavily every year. I need to pay attentions this year to the bloom stalks and do a comparison. |

I don't know which are the "Oregon hardy" types yet. I also have sedum planted with tender succulents so need to keep the covering on for those tenders. I'll see how things survive and look when the temps go a little higher and I can water them too. Remember all my stuff are on the balcony where the rain doesn't hit. |
I keep forgetting that Bev, about the balcony. ![]() It hasn't stopped raining yet. And I want to get out and take more photos of other hardy succulents growing out in the beds. |

Some people have all the fun!... ![]() |
Well that would not be me today. Oh wait, I did have fun looking through the list of plants at Sunscapes. Still drooling. |

Third time. ![]() Acre minus ![]() Stefco Close up shots of plants in the box. Pleasantly surprised at how well things look even after all this rain. Great photos of a neat planter box, Julia! Can I assume that the above sedums are hardy enough (for the outdoor winter) or were they in a protected area? |
