I was reading a book which has the Florida Keys as its location. When I came upon the tree 'gumbo limbo'...never heard of this one; so I got online and googled it at ATP and sure enough, there it was. What a neat tree with a most unusual name...learned something new.

It's a very cool looking tree too...looks sort of like it got sunburned and it's peeling!

I may have a picture somewhere....I DO!! This is from April of 2006 and was taken on Key Largo. All the 'reddish' trees are Gumbo Limbo's...guess they hadn't leafed out yet that spring.
