Yes....am going back for some creeping phlox......the fellow who repaired my fence disturbed the soil all around it....am hoping the phlox will hold the soil.....& beat the weeds!

The only weed I get around the phlox is that very tiny, creeping, red clover. All good plants should have such strong roots!

How true......this area is outside my fence by the roadside, & gets to looking awful by summertime.....

Preen and mulch is all I can think of to hold down the weeding. Many weed seeds come flying when the lawn is mowed - that's where the great majority of mine come from and I don't know how I could prevent it.

I usually do mulch that area, & have planted some DLs to hold the soil....everything is displaced though because the fellow dug all around the fence....will just have to see what comes up....weeds for sure!

Welcome! Cayuga
It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...

It will be an annual for me. Supposed to be a butterfly magnet. I had seeds but never started it.
