I came up with the bright idea of making my own seed tapes one year. Found the instructions on the internet of course. I had a lot of fun making them and improving them as I gained experience. I have always had a very hard time spacing my seeds out evenly...for some reason that seemed very important when I started back with gardening.
Any how, I made up a lot of seed tapes using tissue and flour paste, rolled them all up in very neat bundles and sorted them. I planted them in the spring and within a few days the squirrels found them and rearranged my very neat rows more to their own liking. I still like the idea of seed tapes, but they need to be planted where there are not so many digging critters as I have here. They also make a carpet like seed mat, haven't tried that yet.
