I have had my semps housed at a friend's place for the past couple of years and now I think I've found a new home for them! Still waiting to hear back, it seems the big move will happen in March
Hmm I only just realized in the 2nd picture I caught a gardener in an awkward position forgive please!
I'm thinking that my troughs will go along the fences in the back of the space - there are trees so it won't be full sun but I think it'll be fine.
Here is where they will be moved to - a Seattle PeaPatch which is 2 blocks from my home!
And here is the view looking out from the peapatch - Mt Rainier!

Sempervivum and mountain gazing at the same time!! What a great addition this will make to the pea patch!!

I'm really hoping they see it that way! especially since it won't cost them anything - and I plan to do litter duty so the place stays clean! So by clinic time I will be ready for some new semps!

What a wonderful garden that is Greg. I can see you beautiful semps growing there.

fantastic! I thought your troughs were already planted - or are these new ones? How great to have a garden spot, a view and fellow gardeners (and strawberries maybe?)

Of course, I had to look up ?what in the world is a peapatch
How cool--apparently there are 88 p-patches in Seattle--will yours be the most famous one day as the only one with a dazzling array of semps?
Feb 7, 2016 9:15 PM CST
haha Yes I hope so Dirt!! I knew there were a lot didn't realize there were 88!
This one is named after a local artist whose work was first at Seattle Center for the world's fair when it opened (in 62 I think??) So I like that part too!
Patty my troughs will have to be unplanted moved and replanted!! Probably sometime in late March or early April - I've already decided I have to use different soil than I used the last time (what I am using right now is way to heavy! )

Well, that will be a lot of work.... and-- it will be so nice to be closer to your semps; they will be thrilled with new and improved conditions and all that extra community love

I thought they were already planted - but then I thought you were showing them in their new home in the second pic and they look empty inquiring minds want to know ...

Patty I wish they were already finished...I have them planted at a friend's place but don't want to overstay my welcome, this move would mean they'd be in a public space, but one that won't be changing any time soon, so it feels stable!

How exciting Greg! What a beautiful setting for your plants and now you'll be able to visit them whenever your heart desires. With their new location and new soil they should be very happy in their new home.

Cool! That will be nice to have a new spot for your garden and one you can access easily too. And you can even do CROSSES now!

Really cool location. You can just stroll over any time you want to visit. Looks like plenty of sun exposure from what I can tell. I'd be hanging out there quite a bit.
That looks like 4 brand new troughs, are the old ones coming over as well?

Congrats on the new home for your babies. New location will be Scenic and Stable and hopefully Safe!! (still thinking of your lost semps from grabby, greedy hands a while back...)

Tim - the troughs in the pictures aren't mine, they are already onsite. Those are several feet deep, mine are only 1 foot deep
Mine won't be moved until later in the spring. I think I'm going to have to be somewhat aggressive - just heard back from the person in charge and she said she thought it was only 1 trough, 6 won't work
(according to her, but I know it will, I just have to explain what I have in mind )

Got it! (Finally!) I also thought those were your troughs which is why I was so confused. Fingers crossed for all 6 moving there
Feb 8, 2016 11:29 PM CST
Oh now I understand the confusion!

Beautiful Gregg that is exciting. Fingers crossed she will see it your way. Give her a link to this site she needs to understand how important these babies are to society

They are so beautiful, I think she needs to see pictures of them.
