They need an "add all" option... |

my order: [db_photo]346535[/db_photo Silky Moment is very subtle, mostly white, but there's a small pink glow coming out of the space between the falls and the standards - something like 10 Carat Diamond has, but pink instead of yellow - 10 k was described so well by a forum member's daughter as "the fairy is in her house and has left the light on". So Silky Moment needs a description. Life is a Gift ! |

Mid America is doing the same thing that Tempo Two does -- sending rhizomes to Amsterdam for onward distribution to folks like me -- so I'm placing an order with them. Problem is that my 'short list' is still anything but short and I expect I'll be digging up large swathes of our English lawns to accommodate them... ![]() ![]() |

Mika, it will be interesting to see how irises from America do in your beautiful English( and French) gardens. ...adding that genetically, they may have some European roots! Life is a Gift ! |

In England we have heavy clay, so irises have to be somewhat cosseted with regular checks that the tops of the rhizomes are above the soil. But they are generally pretty robust (and I love them SO much that it's really worth the effort). In France we have very sandy soil, perfect for the free-draining conditions that irises like, although we need to add quite a lot of fertiliser because it leaches out of the soil very quickly. That said, with a little effort we get great results - rebloomers like Rosalie Figge seem to flower more or less year round. I've been importing all sorts of favourite plants to France (English roses, hemerocallis, hostas) and with few exceptions where there's a will there's a way... ![]() |
