Good grief! A kind of romantic tale, though (in the true sense of romance) - it would make a great background story for a film... Hilarious!

Makes me wonder if he really only had months to live. Lawyers convinced a jury he had dementia that sent him on the wrong path... I'm not buying that. He had probly been a mule for many years before that and knew exactly what he was doing.

Makes me cringe that he lives in Indiana.

I don't either buy for one min that it was dementia, these drug people are not stupid, you don't have to spend much time w someone w memory problems to know they are not right between the ears and no one in their right mind would hand over 3Million of their money to someone w dementia. He knew exactly what he was doing. The question is why, maybe he did it for thrills, but I did read somewhere that he had some mexicans hired that worked on his garden(farm) and I wonder if they did not have connections and either tricked or threatened him. If that is the case he still would not have stood up for himself in court for fear of his family being harmed. I just feel there could me more to it than him just choosing and wanting to do it. He did it for quite some time though I understand. Just a sad deal all the way around. I believe he is in his 90's (?) now, so he probably does not have too long to live. I suppose at this point he is not a threat to society and his family would be keeping tabs on him and such. Gov probably did not want to foot his med bills/housing any longer.

I stopped reading at the note that daylily people are 'cooler' than other plant people. Shrug. Cause and effect - the guy reaped what he sowed.

Listening to the Republican debates, there are going to be a lot of old people working as Mules, Its a sad situation. CRUZ & RUBIO want to destroy Medicare and replace it with an Medicare Advantage.plan. Don't they know ?... of course they don't! ... they are not old enough to know! Doctors don't accept Medicare Advantage programs because they don't get paid! They also want to raise the retirement age to seventy so they can get more of your money, The younger people don't hire people over fifty , Pray tell you are not degreed, they just don't want older people around, and you are too young for Social Security! It's a sad situation. One of the worst experiences I ever had was when I was forced to lay off one of my oldest workers. I got to stop listening to these debates because Trump is sounding better and better.. Confused

While the subject of this thread relates to Daylilies, the replies are taking an off topic turn toward a "hot" button that does not belong in a plant or garden based forum. Before this turns into a political debate of it's own I am locking this thread from further discussion.
