All beautiful, but I love Smart Money! |

Me too -- it's very distinctive! Betty |

That's All folks did win a Wister. I can't picture any of these: SDBs 'Soft Air' Lemon Chill & Ping the Duck. (the last 2 are mine & the other one from Bee Warburton.) IBs' Ming' & 'Maui Moonlight', the last one is a very soft yellow. |

Thanks Lucy! The only one of those that I'm familiar with is Ming, and it's really pretty! Betty |

I realize that you don't grow many SDBs. We don't grow too many TBs. Can, but don't. |
Such a cheerful color, yellow! My favorite of your 5 is SMART MONEY, I will eventually have to get THAT'S ALL FOLKS. I am so glad to have NEW DAY DAWNING plus I also have BOLD ONE, below. |

Isn't it a beauty? It's quite short, though, and Keith Keppel's new SUMMER SHADOW is a seedling of BOLD VISION and may be considered an improvement because of its height. I now have both, so hopefully I'll find out by next spring. Betty |
I am already dreaming and excited for next spring! This one went by way too fast and now I have so many more beauties that I am anxious to see. ![]() |

Edited to offer my sincere apologies for mis-reading "five favorite yellow irises" and to remove any other colors. I missed that part altogether. Forgive me, Betty. Hey, it's great! But don't you like yellow irises? You don't even have one here, although ELIZABETH POLDARK is cream to light yellow, I guess. I have two of those you posted, BLACK SUITED and MARY FRANCES, and I love them both. I still think BLACK SUITED is the blackest iris I've ever seen, although Schreiner's HERE COMES THE NIGHT looks equally black to me except for the light beige beards. Feel free to post even more, since I think this is a great time to be looking at iris pic's. I'll be tuning in and out, though, as I'm trying to get some yard work done today -- weeding -- YUCK! Betty |
LOL, we are just too excited to share pictures! Maybe a new thread with 5 or actually 10 favorites would be a fun thing to have now that the season is done, keeps us dreaming for next year! |

This is what must be either #1. a senior moment or #2. the natural aging process! I confess to both! ![]() Lux Umbra Dei Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted (as being) wise.Proverbs 17:28 |

What happened to all your other pictures? Now you'd better start another thread with them, I think! Betty |
Oh Leon, yes, please, use those other photos to start a new thread!! |

Yes, Betty we do like yellow irises here. I will now (very carefully) try again for yellow irises. Some of these are blended with other shades of apricot, orange & tan. I don't really know if this can be called a "yellow", but I'm going to risk it as a shade of yellow. It's called "Cachet" an SDB from Paul Black. I love this little doll! ![]() ![]() And here is "Clever" from Tom Johnson 2007; it's almost blinding! ![]() ![]() "Jazzamatazz" From Blyth ![]() This is Black's "Stroke Of Brilliance" Some yellow, but predominately orange. ![]() Tom Johnson's "Ultimate" ![]() "Yahtzee" Tom Johnson 2006 ![]() ![]() And "Zooboomafoo, Black 2007 ![]() Lux Umbra Dei Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted (as being) wise.Proverbs 17:28 |

I feel terrible when I goof up, therefore my blushing face! I will re-post the other iris pictures in a new thread later. I almost forgot, "Serenity Prayer" has some yellow too. ![]() Lux Umbra Dei Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted (as being) wise.Proverbs 17:28 |

Great yellows/yellow blends, Leon! And what colorful beards! I just love the little guys, but I really can't grow them except for a few of the Sutton vigorous rebloomers. They're the only SDB's that bloom for me at all. And here is my favorite SDB -- a bright yellow! CACHE OF GOLD (Sutton, of course!) Betty |
TBGDN Sep 9, 2011 3:27 PM CST |
Sutton's Cache Of Gold looks very healthy there. That's another one for my wish list! They are so much easier here than some of the TB's. Fortunately (or unfortunately) it gets plenty cold here in winter, so they seem to grow and bloom better. I think Mid-American Gardens has some of the nicest introductions lately. But I've had to slow down with my ordering because of space limitations. We've got irises growing just about everywhere, even in the compost heap! "Tingle" from Paul Black is a fantastic SDB, and I just now found a picture which I'll place here: It is a gorgeous iris!![]() I hope you don't mind all these yellows: But how can I forget "Tweety Bird"? ![]() And "Vavoom"? ![]() Also Keith Keppel's IB "Protocol" ![]() Here is Paul Black's "Bundle Of Love". This is a fantastic BB iris. Pink Stds. & Yellow Cream falls. ![]() Lux Umbra Dei Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted (as being) wise.Proverbs 17:28 |
