I can't see the details of your flower in that photo, but check to see if this species is a fit for your lawn decor.

Thank you, Danita! I did a search on Claytonia Virginica and it showed a close up pic of the flower. So interesting as it is edible. Who knew....I am surprised our squirrels haven't dug them all up. I knew you guys on the forum would find the name! I will go and write it down so not to forget when I am again asked. Thank you all for your replies.

Carol, you can also go to that entry in the database and add it to your plant list. Then it will be a quick look to see what it is if you forget again. Hurray!

That is because she added the plant to her first post when it was identified.
Isn't it beautiful all over the lawn?

This technology confuses me no end! Sally, when I first posted my pic it was not labeled. After Lynn told me about the Plant List yesterday and I checked it out and added the name of my plant to my list (only plant listed) this morning I see that my original post is labeled. Ha! That would confuse even those people who are gifted using websites.

I think someone must have imported your image to the plant database. If you don't want a photo of your house in the database, you can go to the bottom of this page (click on the photo, not on the name):

-then click on the:

More Photo Details «

-on the next page, click on the link there:

» Propose this image be deleted

If you need help, just let me know. Smiling

If the above post was too confusing, here's is a direct link to get to the page to propose a deletion of that particular photo, if you want:

http://garden.org/plants/propo...

(the image will remain in this thread/discussion, but it will be removed from the database. Smiling )

Carol, I hope you leave it. It is wonderful seeing a photo that gives perspective on what the plant looks like in a landscape.
