Welcome! @Autumn. You will need to supply more information (how about a link to what you read/saw?) and restate your question. It might also help to know your location. You can go into your "Profile" and update it, giving your city/state and or your USDA zone.

Welcome! Autumn. My guess is that Autumn is referring to a thread on one of the forums about a centipede that was in someone's house or in a house plant. I'm sure I remember such a post but I don't remember which forum it was though, maybe the insect ID one or pests and diseases? Perhaps Autumn doesn't like the idea of having invertebrates in the house?

Spiders and centipedes: They can stay as long as I can't reach them and there is no fear they will fall on me while I'm asleep. But the minute they get within reach, they are goners.

@Autumn does not say what part of the world he/she is in.
There are some parts of the world where the centipedes are huge and very frightening.

Example:

@Autumn, please let us know what state/region/country you are in and please send a link to the article that you mentioned. Thank You!

No correction, Greene. There was no reason you would have seen that previous post. We are on the same page. Location, location, location.

My last semester of college, I spent a month living in a small village in Western Samoa. Only the interpreter spoke English and I spoke no Samoan.

One night, I walked back to the rest of the group after a visit to the outhouse (I had given up visiting the jungle for these needs after I got chiggers in a sensitive area). There had been a HUGE centipede walking up the wall - I was fastinated! I mentioned it to the interpreter. He said something in Samoan and the whole village came to life. I found out later I'd had a close encounter with a deadly centipede.

Wow, what a story, Daisy. Mosquitoes here in the south are bad enough. Sighing!
