Going down to 20 tonight. I think a lot of things will be ruined for the season. Hostas though have not yet emerged, they are such wise plants.

Gary,

I must have pretty stupid hostas because I have a lot up! I tried covering the biggest ones up but it was so windy that several of the towels blew off. I'm sure I'll be out peeling freeze damaged foliage off when they start unfurling, if it ever warms up enough for them to grow! That's the nice thing about hosta... they may not look their best, but they'll come back.

I have many non-hosta plants up. I was amazed that few looked like they had much damage done to them. It has been so windy here that I didn't even attempt to cover them. Each year seems to have it's gardening challenges and disappointments, but also it's own bounty and beauty.

Gary,

So far I haven't seen much damage, except for the ones I've stepped on! That's usually my biggest problem in the spring. That and moles...I almost lost my Sir Richard this winter because a more decided that was the best place for the run. Grumbling I dug it up and found that most of the roots were just mush. I had 3 little eyes that looked good, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. How do they know which plant is a one of my special ones??? Shrug!

Yes I have over the years been guilty of stepping on some too. They recover pretty nicely. I try not to let any of my plants know that they are my favorites. I casually walk by and admire them. It seems like favorites seem to have unhappy endings. LOL

I'm kinda excited... 'White Feather' has returned!! I moved it last year and it looked pretty bad by the end of the season so I wasn't really expecting any signs of life...

Wow they are all great looking Rose! Think Korean Snow will be on my definate list.
Love Sails Ho upright form and Junior Miss, it reminds me of a shedded snake skin. Really interesting! Do you grow The Queen as well? I find it very attractive but have read The King is the better grower of the two.
Finally was able to do a bit of cleanup in the garden, but a while yet before any hostas make an appearance here. Sighing!

Way ahead of me Rose. I finally can see one. It is the glorious Empress Wu. But not unfurling yet.

Rose, they are looking good! Hurray!

I've barely been out in the garden but might go cut down some grasses, etc today. I did feel where my 'Curly Fries' is and there are some little bumps coming. Time to print my check-list and start doing the kneel and feel, I think. Smiling

Debbie,

I just got 'The Queen' last year, so it's about 3 years behind 'The King'. It's up and starting to unfurl, but looks like it will be smaller. If 'Sir Richard' survives I will plant it by the others and call that part of the garden the "Royal Corner"!

We've been having some really warm weather and nice soaking rains so I'm sure I'll be able to hear them growing!

Thanks! They always look nicer on a cloudy day. My goal this year is to fill in the bare spots.
