Hi and welcome, SWAT. First we really need to know where you live. Please fill that in on your personal profile, and then it will appear in the upper right corner of all your posts.

How old is this plant? Pictures of the plant and its location/situation would be a great help.

Especially important is whether there are any trees in the vicinity. Both shade and competition from tree roots could be holding back your clematis.

Welcome SWAT! Welcome!

I won't pretend to know what color your flower will be until, as you must assume, it blooms. But then again, I am in no way an "expert" in flowers. I really hope someone in NGA will be able to help you because it is apparent that it matters to you at this present time and that's what is important!! Smiling Good luck to you!
