I did manage to keep it to 1 order per vendor. The test comes this Saturday. My local AIS is having their annual Iris sale. I suppose just going to look couldn't hurt, right?

Staying up insomniac hours of the night, losing sleep all year, scrolling through images of iris, catalogs, and American Iris Association data base out of fear that you might have missed one that you really know you will want if you see it.

Oh and coming up with reasons (that iris-muggles will accept) why you cannot visit friends and family or go on vacation in May or June.

I guess I am still in July as most of my orders have not arrived yet.

"July - Boxes suddenly start showing up on your doorstep. First from the suppliers. One, then two, then "Oh my". You take each one out, clean it, lay it out in a nice line of 'newbies'. Then "I don't remember ordering that. Oh crap, I forgot about the bonuses. Guess I need to order some more pots. OK, no biggie, I'm still under control". Then the 'gift boxes' These are actually wheel barrows that can be mailed. What a concept!!"

There is no cure, Barbalee, and the only thing you can do for it is to follow your iris urges. Otherwise no one knows what would actually happen to you. There are urban legends......... but we will not go into that.

Great post, John!

I still have two more bearded iris orders coming (never mind that I am still working on earlier orders here), I have an order of PCI irises coming in the fall, and the iris club meetings start up again in September, with door prize possibilities (thankfully not to be received until next year's July picnic) and also a promise of more PCIs this fall.

At least I know where the PCIs will be going (sort of Whistling ), and it's not into pots.

I've had to postpone (til next year) two "buddy" boxes. I think I'm going to be growing a ton of irises in pots as it is, and I don't know where I have enough sunny space to put them.
It's daylily season!
