Probably not -- but there are a few there that I would LOVE to have. If I got one I would have to keep it potted because I'd be afraid of putting it out in the yard the first year for fear that something would happen to it. And I did just purchase XYLOPHONE JAZZ, one of their new Fall 2011 introductions, and I've reserved another Fall 2011 introduction that I'll get in the spring, LITTLE SURFER GIRL. Karen wanted to hold off on that one because she wants more growth on the smalls before they release them. And one thing I must say about Floyd Cove Nursery is that you get large fantastic plants with great root systems, never just a single fan when you purchase a new introduction -- usually two or three fans at least; and for every new introduction you purchase they give you another as a bonus plant -- so I'm impressed! They gave me LAKE CHAMPAGNE as my gift plant on the order I just received, and it was a large single fan rather than a double. But this is the first single fan I've ever received from them. So I know I will be purchasing more from them in the spring. That's where I got the most gorgeous BASS GIBSON from their General Listing this last spring -- a triple fan for less than I see single fans going for on the Lily Auction! And I also got my SPACECOAST IRISH ILLUMINATION, my favorite yellow, from them for half the cost I was seeing elsewhere! And Karen is absolutely wonderful to work with too! So I'm very enthusiastic about Floyd Cove -- I just have to save up now!

There are some awesome ones but I just don't think I can afford them when they get them priced.

Floyd Cove has updated their web site with descriptions and prices for their 2012 introductions. There are some really fabulous daylilies for next year-they now have a toothy one. Their plants usually grow very well for me in my zone 6 garden. As Betty said, they always send double fans, except maybe for the bonus, plus their bonus is nearly always another of their new introductions.

I keep hoping I will win the lottery....

But eventually they will come down to reasonable prices for me, and perhaps then. I love their new prism one.

Beautiful flowers! ~Jan

There are huge puddles of drool gathering around my chair, too. I'm going to give all my credit cards to my DH so I can not go crazy. I might need to give him the deed to the house. All I need is for one more to come out with another group of drop dead gorgous plants!!!!

For me, they need to come down to below $50ish - and I have snagged a couple from the LA that I wanted. Otherwise, last winter, I purchased seeds for some that I really wanted, and couldn't afford the parent plant.

Otherwise, I can be patient. I have a specific amount of money in my yard budget - and blew it last year but accomplished a lot. I may wait a lot of years, and sometimes one has to be in the right place at the right time.

I also feel that by waiting, I can get a better indication of how the plant might do in my area, much less plant habit that may night be identified early on (at least that is what I tell myself!)

If my family only knew what I spent on daylilies this past year, ........ Rolling my eyes.

I have found that if I fill out an order form, or just track things on the LA, and then WAIT overnight or a day or two, then I am better able to decide if I really want something or truly need it - but I didn't figure this out until recently. Big Grin ~Jan

Same here Jan. And that applies to everything not just daylilys. Fill out an order form or put it on the wish list or in the shopping cart but don't hit "buy" yet. Wait a day or a few & suddenly you get real perspective. Works for me.

I signed up for the lily auction awhile ago. I guess I need to watch that some and see some prices. I think it's going to be a long time before some of these new intros come down to 50.00, dang it. The most I've paid so far for any daylily was 45.00 for Southern Dazzle.

As you can tell I'm new at buying daylilies.

Poly, when I first started in daylilies, I told myself there was no way I was going to pay those big bucks for new plants. I remember the first time I spent $100 for a new introduction. I had some birthday money and I felt so wicked spending that much on one plant. Slowly I became immune to the sticker shock and it didn't feel so bad to spend $100. Then $150 didn't sound so bad, but I started selling seeds to pay for my addiction. It seems to me that most hybridizers have increased prices this year. Anyone else notice this? A single fan of Romeo Prince sold for $229 on the Lily Auction this past weekend. It was a Floyd Cove 2011 introduction that originally sold for $150 for a double fan, but it was sold out at the nursery. Some new intros come down very quickly in price and some don't.

I'm used to irises, where the top price now may hit 60.00. Since I sell sibs I buy all the new ones I can, and normally they go for around 35.00. So, it's sticker shock for me with these daylilies. And it seems the newer ones are the ones I want, not the even 5 year old ones.

So, I guess I have to adjust my thinking. 300.00, oh what the heck. But seriously, I don't hybridize, nor sell daylilies, and that just seems an awful price to have something pretty in my yard.

I just picked up two 2011 introductions yesterday (both SF's) on the Lily Auction (from seller "De" -- John DeMory, who I love to purchase from) -- and they were available for great prices. And he's mailing them on Friday! I got SEDONA SQUARE by Jeff Salter ($47) and FLAMINGO SUNRISE by Dan Trimmer ($59.99). And in September when he sent my HAPPY HAPPY, he actually sent me a DF rather than a single! I'm so pleased! So you can get them for a lot less if you shop them out. Anyone who is interested should check that out, as he just posted a whole bunch of new ones. I requested he send mine now, but he lists them for spring shipment too.

I agree, Betty, that John (De) is great to buy from. If I didn't sell seeds, I don't think I would be buying the newer ones. I have some older plants that are very inexpensive that I don't ever want to get rid of. Their beauty and overall performance are astounding. Tequila Mockingbird, Winning Note and Wispy Rays are some that come to mind right away.

That's good to know about the older ones. I recently got a great plant of WISPY RAYS as a bonus, and I can't wait to see it blooming next year!

Some of my older ones were the only ones to set pods this year. Best of Friends is one of my favorites, along with American Revolution, Erin Farmer, Frans Hal and Gentle Blessings was just spectacular this year.
