I don't think you were getting a slap on the wrist, I think he was just suggesting that moving your thread to the plumeria forum would get you more answers from people more knowledgeable about plumerias. We do sometimes suggest moving threads and it is not considered rude here to do that.

AND there is now a new feature where you can "Suggest a Change" to a thread. See it right there in bold print in the box right after the last post in a thread?

I never even noticed that "suggest a change". And if I had, I probably would not have known what it meant. Sighing!

Father, we have sent many of your posts to the Plumeria thread. But this is a good Forum to ask questions. More then likely you thought they had been lost. @Dave maybe in your wonderful wizardry, you could notify the original poster as to where their posts were moved to? In the mean time, Father, go here to find where everyone is talking about nothing but plumeria growing. http://garden.org/forums/view/... You might even find some old discussions and learn, like I did. Hetty whom you have conversed with is the Moderator over there. In fact, you'll probably recognize a few names that have responded to your Ask A Question posts while there.

Members can click on the posts icon on the top-left hand of every page to get a quick access to all the posts they have made. That page also shows when each thread has had a new reply.

The icon looks like two speech bubbles.

IN spite of my failed attempts, I will not stop until I bring plumeria flowers to our cloister.
For moi meme, as with prayer, being constant and perservering brings results.
Alors, " To those who believe, there are no questions. To those that don't believe, there are no answers"
When I get a flower, I may be bold enough to pin it to my habit. Well.......perhaps not but one never knows with myself.
Thanks to all for your help

Keep up the good fight, Father. I experiment all the time with plants and believe me, I have had lots of failures along the way. That's how I learn.

I know the feeling drdawg. Last year i planted a lilac in the corner of my back yard. It didn't come back this year. Had a2 year warranty so i exchanged it for another. Now a month later it's already wilting. Now to figure out why it won't grow there and what to plant instead

Drdswg,
Probably doing this incorrectly as I am as yet not comfortable/knowkedgeable with forums as perhaps the subjects may not show on smart phones.
Heddy might be irritated with me per my lack if understanding if the total picture...plumeria forum only, no personsal messages, etc.
Alors, will attempt to send photo of orchid O purchased at Trader Joes for $10.00.
No scent. When beautiful flowers died, i cut plant back to nothing but am suddenly getting growths that look like roots. Can you tell me what these are.

Father, when I click on that photo, it goes out of focus, but it looks like a Dendrobium to me. My Den. are actively growing, putting on roots, and putting on flower stems, so this would be the time I would expect root growth. My Den. flowers have no fragrance whatsoever.

I doubt anyone will be irritated with you. We that grow orchids successfully, and many of us have done so for many decades, love to field questions. I won't know the answers to a lot of what you need to know, but others will. That's the value of a site like this. We all grow different plants, we all have differing levels of experience, but each and every one of us are here to learn and here to help.

Keep coming with the questions. Thumbs up

Father, you don't cut orchids back. Many, many other plants yes, but not orchids. I am amazed that did not kill it! Yes, it looks like those a roots growing. That is normal. they grow roots along the stems & that's good & an okay thing.
