And with my first order from Palatine (http://www.palatineroses.com) under way, next I looked at Edmunds (http://www.edmundsroses.com). And came to a screeching halt because they're not accepting orders until the later part of October! What?? You mean I gotta wait THAT long?? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So now I'm checking out GVR (https:/store.gardenvalley.com/). Their online store is kinda broken right now, but you can always use HMF to figure out who's what where. I didn't have any luck with Pickering Roses when I ordered them through one of MamaJack's co-ops I think.. and didn't have any luck either with Chamblee's roses but I'm going to say on both of these it's 100% MY FAULT. But still, I'm one of those once bitten twice shy people. Roses are one of my passions! Just opened, my Etsy shop (to fund my rose hobby)! http://www.etsy.com/shop/Tweet... |
I think Mamajacks' co-op last year was through Chamblee's, not through Pickering. Regans will also be carrying Ketchup & Mustard. No more for me, I have too many still to plant and way too many other plants too. |

I called up GVR.. they're hoping to get their website fixed in a few days.. or I could order over the phone. I'll just wait a few days. :) Roses are one of my passions! Just opened, my Etsy shop (to fund my rose hobby)! http://www.etsy.com/shop/Tweet... |

I placed my order with Palatine and am happy that I got my dibs on several plants of Roxy and Water Lily before they went out of stock. If I place any more orders for roses for 2012 it will probably be from David Austin Roses, although my Brass Band roses from GVR could use some company. I remember being as excited about the rose 'Rosie O'Donnell' as you are, Toni, about 'Ketchup & Mustard.' But I'm guessing I'm going to delay my purchase of that rose until 'Brats & Buns' is doing well in my garden. ![]() When you dance with nature, try not to step on her toes. |

If I could find a Brats & Buns (perhaps a couple of chocolate colored roses?), then DH would be MORE than happy to help me dig holes.. thinking that he could eat them!! Roses are one of my passions! Just opened, my Etsy shop (to fund my rose hobby)! http://www.etsy.com/shop/Tweet... |

I think a picnic rose garden would be fun. Chips & Salsa, Octoberfest, Brats & Buns, Ketchup & Mustard, Potato Salad, and Fudge Brownie or Ginger Snaps in the informal garden. Champaign Cocktail, Escargot, Mahi-Mahi , Plantain Fritter with Mango Chutney, Cherry Parfait or Rainbow Sorbet, and Courvoisier in the more formal garden. I can see we need to get rose breeders to work on a few of the menu items. When you dance with nature, try not to step on her toes. |
