This is a plant that was left in our garden since my mother lived in the house who has now sadly departed us.

i would love to know what it is so that i can best care for it.

Welcome!

The only shrub which it would fit, I think, is Aucuba japonica and most likely 'Rozannie' which produces good clusters of red berries.
