I haven't had any problems with the squirrels knocking them off or over. But the ones that didn't fit quite so tight I used those things that hold down the soaker hose just because it's what I had around the house. Those worked great

The second one looks like a light fixture cover that I pulled out of a trash can at the park, figuring it could be some part of a bird feeder... Also sort of makes a little cage for propping up stems, might be an added benefit on some plants.

Hmmm, that might work for my sweet potatoes also. I grow them on my patio in a big pot. Seems the chipmunks love them. There would still be enough room for the vines to grow through.
Yes that was my thought when I first put the cage/cover thingy and it did help hold up my daffodils when they bloomed this year. It's a two'fer Of course I can't put my hands on a pic right now as I'm outside but i will try to post one later

I saved my cactus garden from squirrels a couple years ago with this very same solution. The squirrels never tried to move the baskets.
