What is surviving and thriving in this summer heat?

The featured thumbnail photo for July 2016 is provided by Larry aka Seedfork.

A lovely Agapanthus! Thanks, Larry! Smiling

P.S. Are you are wondering, "Where's the thumbnail photo for this thread?"
Well, it may be on your computer!

Kabby, another member here in the Southeast forum, should get credit for the nice photo of the daylily 'Long Stocking', she sent me a nice start of it back in April. I tip my hat to you.

Thanks, Larry! Your Agapanthus it is, then! Green Grin!
It's funny, the two photos that I was eyeing were the same ones that you mentioned, the Agapanthus and the Daylily! Hurray!

Maybe the frosty blue of that Agapanthus can help keep us cool in this summer heat! Whew! Sticking tongue out

That was my favorite photo too - they are all beautiful but the Agapanthus is beautiful.

This is what my Plumeria Patch looked like this afternoon. I am having to water the heck out of all these plants! Sighing!

Each photo of flowers is of a different variety.

Without being outside for the "hot" months, you would have difficult growing them, Kabby. Why no outside growing?

Because of lugging them up and down a flight of stairs every spring and winter. I did it for a few yrs, then said nah. Glare

Yes, I can see your problem there. I don't have to go up and down stairs, thank God. Of course, I do have approximately 1000 plants that are moved outside in the spring and then back inside in the fall. A labor of love for me but its not for everyone. Whistling

Ginger I went back and enlarged your hibiscus photo. Is it positively huge? 😍
I cannot muster up the gumption to get outside to take photos. Where is the 'sweating like a beast' emoji?

July here in Southeast Alabama means it is time for the Crepe Myrtles to put on a show! The back yard is starting to explode with color.

pretty, Larry. I have a crepe in bloom too. Wish I could line the driveway with them, but no way because of the elec and phone wires comming into the house.

Kabby....just went and measured the Texas Star bloom of today....about 6-7" from petal tip to petal tip.

The power company is suppose to trim under the lines every 4 years I was told, they have not done it here because one set of lines (we have two) were disabled and no power was flowing through them. This year I was informed that the power company was going to re energize the power line and they would have to cut down or at least trim back my Crape Myrtles, they haven't bothered them in about 14 years, so that came as a big shock. They have trimmed everything along the power right of way except my Crepe Myrtles, so I am just wondering if they changed their mind.
