Finally got around to cutting down some 5 ft cockleburrs and thistles in the most abandoned corner of my most neglected bed, a most amazing sight appeared when I could see the ground --- bare ground in the form of a pile of old compost where I was about to expand a couple of years ago! Praise be! All I have to do is some more weeding and I will have a wonderfully sunny spot for my growing family of irises! Won't have to plant in the shade yet.
