I have tried and tried to grow Pablano to no avail until (knock on wood) maybe this year Hurray!

This is my very first little pepper! I had to cover the plant with row cover to get it this far. All of the other cultivar of peppers want sun. Not the Pablano i guess.
How do you grow them?

I grow my peppers with my eggplant in an earthbox (6 plants--3 eggplant, 3 peppers). My poblano seem to set fruit later than the other varieties I grow, but they do pump out fruit at the end of the season. I usually take my and roast them, then freeze them. Nothing seems to really bother my peppers, although flea beetles seem to like my eggplant.

Are your poblano peppers hot? I wonder what makes them hot or mild? I am trying for mild but flavorful. I was so excited to see a little pepper forming. I have another poblano in a pot on my deck. I hope it puts on fruit also Hurray!
