With your lead I was able to pinpoint exactly what it is. Verbascum
pulverulent or common name Hoary Mullein broadleaf

yeah I do not know it well enough to id the variety , but I knew it was Mullein. I just looked it up a week ago for someone else.

I am sure many members on here could though and still may weigh in sooner or later. They are pretty good at identifying things around here.
