I just planted the bark of a tree fern a few weeks ago and have been watering it properly everyday but I can't tell if it was successful or not so does anyone know how long I should be waiting for to see any actual progress?

(info: I planted it exactly 3 weeks ago straight into my garden in a mostly shady spot...I didn't use any fertilizer or anything just my own garden soil and I water it every morning or whenever the soil is completely dried out)
my cats🐱 and dogs🐶, my plants🌱and my phone📱 are my babies💕 So don't touch them
