Trees and Shrubs forum: How often should you water apple seedlings?

I planted apple seeds and they sprouted and are still pretty small but are growing pretty good. I live in australia and it's winter here. The reason I planted them in winter is because winter isn't as cold and spring and summer can get really hot here. Since it's winter the humidity is a bit higher. I checked the soil and it's still a little bit moist after almost a week. So I don't know should I just water them now or wait till the soil completely dries out? I know apple plants are pretty sensitive to moisture and they do not like too much water.

I think watering when the soil is dry would be a good approach.
