Hi! When I first moved into my house a year and a half ago this plant was only 3ft tall so I thought it was a fern but now it has tripled in size! It stays green year round and barely dies in the winter. Could anyone give me some insight as to what it is?
Butterflylady,
I don't think that is a fern, so I have suggested the post be moved to the plant ID forum. If would help a lot if you would include the growing zone the plant is in.

Looks like that to me also. Pull it up before it grows a taproot.

Tree of Heaven was my first thought too ... an invasive weed for sure! But, then I got to thinking I wonder if it could be a Rhus of some sort? Smooth Sumac (Rhus glabra)
