Thank you so much. That was a lot of work to share those beautiful gardens with those of us that have no opportunity to see such beauty up close and personal. You are the best!!

I agree Thank You! I love to see the various plants/flowers planted as companions to peonies. Something that I would like to aspire to.

Don't you just love those purple allium with the peonies? I'm planting more this fall....
It was such a wonderful trip! Hope the next few years have as many tours as this one did--sat with Carol Adelman at the convention dinner and she said the 2018 convention would have a tour of their place, can't wait!

I pretty much missed all of mine this year, LG--and hated it! I only got to see the very early and some of the very late and those were suffering from the heat by the time I had enough time at home to visit the garden. NOT going to have that kind of spring again!

Thanks, Liz. I will add some photos of tree peonies I took in Olbrich Botanical Garden to this thread, hope you don't mind.

I sure wish my Bartzella looked like that, it's one that hasn't done well for me. I actually ordered another from Solaris for this fall thinking I just got a dud root.....

Liz, my Bartzella planted in 2011 took several years to mature, and did not bloom every year. I finally got a lot of blooms this year. Give your 1st plant a couple of years to settle down. The plant posted above is gorgeous.

I must've completely missed the area with the tree peonies--I don't remember a seeing a single one! Those are lovely, I'm disappointed that I didn't find them.....

They are mostly close to the northern boarder of the garden, scattering along the road. Some( Kinkaku and Kinshi) are just outside of the peony lawn.
