Bex gave me a mixed bucket of the dierama and I'm hoping that one of the dark ones like Merlin or Blackbird is in there also.....today I'm trying to get more planted and find room for a lot of grasses that I did from seed.....I don't think I have room....

Too true......and I think I'm out of area I can dig sod out of to plant more also.....for now.....there will be room for planting around the house more when some arbor thingys are built...I will see if I can squeeze some more Little Blustem in with the asclepias plot.....although I do have more asclepias also....see, I should not be acquiring a lot more plants....well, actually small stuff is good, but I have some trees and shrubs that should get into the ground....and I'm going to have to really stretch on those....main problem right now is not getting anything permanent in the way of doing anything on the house...

Cleaning, rearranging the Pen today and realize I haven't taken time to even cut any Sweet Peas yet...with out cooler weather here, we can grow Sweet Peas on through the Summer...these are supposedly heirloom...don't think they're as good as the old species dark wine colored ones, whose name I can't remember at the moment...they used to grow wild on my elderly neighbor's land in Fallbrook...should kept seed...dang...

I love the fact that given a piece of bare ground, many things will jump right in and make themselves at home....
The Self Heal / prunella makes a nice filler as a groundcover....
I just figured out what this is...it's the Stachys chamissonis / Coast Hedgenettle that's jumped over from a small planting around the foundation...
The Ox-Eye Daisy has found a new home.....
This is interesting.....I've grown the bright pink centranthus and the reddish colored centranthus and a white, though it did not make the trip with me and neither did the reddish one. So I do have the bright pink and came across a plant of the reddish one, brought seeds home and it appears to be a mix....dunno if it will stay like this. I've not seen this before, does not meant there isn't one, I've just not seen one...
and looking forward to these two.....

The bummer is over. Its been maybe a week that I thought this computer had crashed. Then, about 15 minutes ago I recalled that after I cleaned behind all this electronic stuff I had to call twc because my phone stopped working and I couldn't get on line. Turned out I had to plug in the modem again. So, I thought to myself, what if? I took the unprecedented step of actually turning the computer around, and a plug fell on the desktop (the physical desktop). Turns out the plug going into the puter had come undone, so now I don't have to replace this thing. I just saved myself about $1200. And can't wait to spend it all on something else, like the plumbing leak in the guest bathroom.
Can't complain too loud about how the ball bounces when I'm the one who dropped it.

LOL! I've got to agree with Sherry...cleaning can be detrimental to your mental health, not even considering all those chemical fumes being detrimental to your physical health.
I get up, have my coffee and a chunk of cheese while checking my stuff online and then it's usually out the door.....I resent having to think about cleaning something first...plus, my back is in better shape in the morning for getting things done....my neighbor is gone for 3 weeks, left this a.m. and had wanted me to keep a couple of houseplants for her and this and that...and, you know, it actually annoyed me that I would have to stop doing something I wanted to do just so I could clean for someone who would be here for a few minutes...I told jer it would be nice if she could just leave the plants on the porch....I swear she heard me because as I was leaving for the store yesterday afternoon, she came running over to the car and I told her I would be right back and she said.........."I'll just leave them on the porch...." is she psychic or does she have extremely good hearing? She's the neighbor who "hates gardening" and doesn't like being outside....she's a houseperson...I am not a houseperson...I am an outside person....

I have the same problem. Luckily ,I no longer have those kind of neighbors. The Asian neighbors 3 doors down moved to Texas last month and left their daughter the mobile home. She is a sweet gal, recent college graduate, has a job, a helpful boyfriend, but has no clue about gardening. She knocked at my door last evening to offer me some cookies for letting her parents park one of their cars in my driveway for 1 day in the moving process. She asked if I had ever gone to the spring Garden show, which I've never missed, and told me she had bought a Protea, could I help her find a good place to plant it? I told her to do some research, and gave her the Western Garden website...and told her to pull the weeds in the bed her dad planted before he left. I'm just too old to try to teach gardening to a 20something year old. Of course she also asked about Paeonias. before I got rude. Oh yeah, I'm supposed to call her for next years Spring Garden show, so we can go together. Arrgh!
