Something about this reminds me of Polyscias.

Maybe this? Fernleaf Aralia (Polyscias filicifolia)

edit:
On second thought, don't think so.

Looks similar, but it isn't. The jagged edges aren't as spiky as those in the plant you mentioned. Thanks anyway.

Maybe Sorbaria sorbifolia false spirea
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.

I'm from central Chile (Mediterranean weather, it's winter right now down here) source: unknown. The specimen is about 25 cm tall (10 inches). it's odorless and no flowers or seeds are seen at all (at least for now).

The leaves looked similar to my Tagetes lemonii but since yours is unscented could it be another type of Tagetes?
Unsceneted...maybe a Tagetes patula/French Marigold? (I am only guessing Shrug! )

quite similar but if you look at the second photo I posted (the leaf closeup), the tip leaflet at the end is larger and longer than the rest, and the ribs are further apart from one another (which is the opposite case in the Sorbaria).
